DAZN to Lead Global Free-to-View Coverage for Ultimate Sevens’ Inaugural Season

LONDON, 12 September 2026 – DAZN, the world’s leading sports entertainment platform, will lead the international broadcast coverage of Ultimate Sevens as rugby’s newest elite competition makes its debut this weekend.

Ultimate Sevens brings together some of the world’s best men’s and women’s Sevens players for a new competition designed to showcase the speed, skill and intensity of the format while creating a fresh, entertainment-led experience for a global audience.

The inaugural championship kicks off at Cardiff Arms Park on Saturday from 15:30 BST, with DAZN leading the global coverage.

DAZN will broadcast the series free-to-view globally (except in Fiji, Spain, New Zealand and Australia), with Fiji TV,  RTVe in Spain, Sky Sports New Zealand and Stan Sport in Australia also showing the championship.

Ultimate Sevens is also welcoming TikTok Live as a key activation partner, which will bring creators on site for the Finals, as the Championships delivers on its ambition to grow the reach of Sevens rugby, introduce the sport to new audiences, and showcase its unique combination of elite sport and live entertainment.

The competition will feature Olympic medallists, international Sevens stars, and some of the most exciting rugby athletes on the planet competing across three tournaments in Cardiff, Biarritz and London, culminating in the Grand Final at Gtech Community Stadium in Brentford on Thursday, 24 September.

The innovative format has been created to deliver rugby at full speed, with six new elite global clubs competing in straight knockout games featuring 10-minute matches, team timeouts and bonus points for conversions taken from more difficult parts of the pitch.

Across four hours of supercharged, non-stop rugby, the action will be combined with DJs, live entertainment and crowd interaction to create an experience designed to keep fans engaged from the first whistle to the last.

Barney Pascall, Managing Director of Ultimate Sevens, said: “Having DAZN as our lead global broadcast partner is a huge statement for Ultimate Sevens.

“DAZN has built an incredible global platform for sport, and its ability to bring new competitions and new sports to audiences around the world makes it the perfect partner for what we are trying to achieve.

“We want Ultimate Sevens to introduce a new generation of fans to the incredible speed, skill and personalities of Sevens rugby, and DAZN gives us the reach to make that happen.”

Shay Segev, CEO of DAZN Group, said: “Ultimate Sevens brings together elite athletes, a distinctive format and the pace and intensity that make it compelling for fans to watch in the stadium or digitally. Its combination of short, high-impact matches, world-class players and entertainment-led events gives it clear potential to grow beyond rugby’s traditional audience and attract new fans around the world. That makes Ultimate Sevens a natural fit for DAZN, and we’re excited to help build its international following from day one.”

The partnership gives Ultimate Sevens access to the world’s leading digital sports platform, with DAZN reaching millions of fans across more than 200 markets.

Broadcast production is being delivered in partnership with OS Studios, while Ultimate Sevens is also working with Wavze and a number of digital and social partners to extend the competition’s reach beyond the live event.
